Heading to Copan Ruinas for the weekend. Won't have much to say tonight as I'll be on the bus all day. Here are a few photos I took off the loungewear organization website from my experience so far.
Rafael and me looking at a map of La Ceiba when I arrived
Tita, Argentina, and me eating lunch
The 5th grade classroom I work in
The 6th grade class I work with - the teacher knows some English, so we are able to communicate well
Me teaching the 5th graders how to tell someone their age
The boys who came up to me yelling "Gringo! Gringo" when I went to take a picture of the city from the hill above the school - I am pretty sure the one in red wants me to bring him a remote control car.
Rob,
ReplyDeleteFrom all your notes, I can tell you are having a wonderful experience. I often tear up (you know me--a softy) reading your impressions of these kids. It certainly does make one realize how fortunate we are here in the US, while other areas of this world struggle so much, but are so appreciative of what they have. You are doing wonderful work besides just teaching these kids English. Your love and compassion for what you are doing, for the children you are working with and the people you are meeting shows through each entry you share. Thanks for being a wonderful humanitarian representing HFL. Cannot wait to hear more. You and the people you are meeting are in my daily thoughts.
Best wishes,
Patty
